Struts

Struts control the vehicle’s natural tendency to “bounce” its way down the road like a basketball. There is a reason this is a safety concern and not just a comfort issue. If the car bounces or sways during abrupt cornering (like steering around a pedestrian in the road) the car can end up driving with almost all of its weight on only two or three of its tires. The struts work to keep the wheels in contact with the road as much as possible so that the vehicle can be controlled under every driving condition.
